Advanced Surgical Training
For current and future patients, MERIN is important because physicians from across the United States and around the world attend MERIN-hosted surgical training sessions to advance their skills levels, practice new surgical techniques and refine innovative medical devices.
Advanced surgical training is an essential part of on-going physician education. Without centers such as MERIN, many surgeons obtain continuing education on new surgical techniques through attending conferences, or viewing videos, and utilize new techniques for the first time in actual surgery.
MERIN gives surgeons the opportunity to practice new and evolving surgical techniques on donor bodies prior to ever entering the operating room. Ultimately, this on-going education leads to medical progress, improved patient safety, and the overall enhancement in the quality of health care delivery.
For surgeons and health care professionals, MERIN, developed by physicians for physicians, is by far the most technologically advanced bioskills training center in the United States.
